Jamaican Exchange in Teaching
The week kicks off with a team building activity to experience the natural beauty of Jamaica. The teachers then spend 3 full days with their partner teacher/partner school getting to know the education system, students and learning styles. They also spend two days visiting other schools to deepen their knowledge of the Jamaican education system. The Minnesota teachers are invited to donate much needed school supplies or technology resources to our Jamaican partner schools.
We honor the word “exchange” by having our Jamaican teachers have the same fully immersive experience in Minnesota. Again, the week begins with a team building activity to experience Minnesota’s beauty followed by 3 days with the partner teacher/school getting to know the education system, students and learning styles. They also spend 2 days visiting other schools to deepen their understanding of the school system in Minnesota.
