Dr. Keitha-Gail Martin-Kerr is an Associate Teaching Professor in the College of Education and Human Development in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota. Keitha-Gail grew up in Jamaica, where she attended Westwood High School. She got her diploma in primary education at Passley Gardens Teachers College (now C.A.S.E). At Northern Caribbean University, she received her bachelor’s in elementary education. She holds two master's degrees in literacy education and school administration from City College of New York and Touro College. She got her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Martin-Kerr sees JET as one of the many ways to give back to her country and the field of education.
Amy Schreiner Pucel received her BA in education from Gustavus Adolphus College and continued her education at the University of Minnesota to receive a Masters in Literacy Education. She taught second grade in Charleston, SC, and in Aberdeen, NC. She also taught both fourth and fifth grades in Mounds View, MN. She was also a Literacy Coach in Brooklyn Center, MN. Currently, she supervises student teachers for the University of Minnesota. Amy is passionate about the JET program because it is a way for her to give back to the teaching community which she believes is extremely important to both the local community as well as globally.
Nicole Zapzalka is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She holds a PhD in psychology and is also a licensed attorney. Nicole has made a career out of working with children and families. She also has extensive experience both working with and participating in cultural exchange. Nicole joined Jet because she believes teachers are key molds in shaping our future. By providing opportunities and resources for teachers, there is hope to impact each child they teach.
Robin Powers Kinning received her B.A. in political science from Stanford University and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is a Minnesota attorney specializing in trust administration and has served on other nonprofit boards. Robin joined the JET Board to support educators in both Minnesota and Jamaica and to use her legal skills in service of the Board.
Tammy received her BS in Accounting from the University of St.
Thomas. She received her CPA license and worked at McGladrey in the
audit and tax departments. She left public accounting to be the Controller at Presbyterian Homes and Services, a 501C(3). She left the accounting field to pursue her passion of antiques for several years.
She has volunteered and worked at a variety of non-profits including
the White Bear Lake food shelf. Recently she returned to accounting in
the non-profit sector working as the Accounting Manager for PAI, Inc a
501C(3) that provides Day Services to adults with disabilities. Tammy is passionate about the JET program because her father was a teacher for 30 years and she recognizes the need for collaboration between teachers.
